Situated in the centre of the City, the 30 Gresham Street project at its time was one of the largest speculative schemes, with a floor plate of similar dimensions to a football pitch.
Portland Stone was specified for the façades by the project’s architects at Sidell Gibson to be empathetic with the style and character of the surrounding buildings of the City of London.
Set on the corner, at the junction of Gresham Street & Milk Street, the design of the building’s exterior compliments the differing architectural styles of the two streets, whilst creating an exceptionally grand impression.
The project team visited Albion’s site to view the quarry and see the production process. Here, the range of the stone was agreed from Albion’s large Sample Panels.
Portland Bowers Basebed was selected for the externals of the new building to be in line with City of London Planning specifications.
Albion Stone, a fourth generation family business pride ourselves on having a helpful and skilled workforce as well as modern and traditional manufacturing process to enable us to produce the highest quality Portland Stone with minimal environmental impact.
