Scope of Project:
Internal and external development of 74 St James Street.
The building, based in the London Borough of Westminster, comprised of internal and external alternations and the complete demolition of 14-15 Little St James Street to provide both residential and office space spread over 6 storeys.
Squire & Partners specified Portland Stone for the cladding element of the project for its aesthetics and durability. Bowers Whitbed was selected for its characteristics, and following the issue of an exacting specification, a pre-purchase of block was agreed.
Albion Stone supplied approximately 800m³ of Bowers Whitbed.
The design and use of Bowers Whitbed compliments the differing architectural styles of the facades, creating a unity between the classic rusticated ashlar panels and the contemporary modern lines adding to the overall design of the building.
